How to Use — US Tip Calculator Pro Max

Step 1: Open the Calculator

Go to numovix.com and open the US Tip Calculator Pro Max tool. No sign-up needed, no personal data stored — all calculations happen instantly in your browser.

Step 2: Enter Your Bill & Tip Details

Fill in these 3 required fields in the Bill & Tip section:

> Quick Select: Use the preset buttons (10%, 15%, 18%, 20%, 22%, 25%) for instant tip selection. 18% is pre-selected as the US standard for restaurants. Clicking a preset auto-fills the tip percentage field.

Step 3: Add Tax & Service Details (Optional)

For more accurate total calculations, fill these optional fields:

Step 4: Click "Calculate Tip & Total"

Hit the teal Calculate Tip & Total button. The tool instantly shows:

Total Per Person — What each person pays (bill + tax + tip, split equally)
Tip Amount — Total tip calculated from pre-tax bill
Tipping Rating — Emoji-based etiquette rating based on your tip percentage

Step 5: Read the Results Dashboard

After calculation, you’ll see:

1. Hero Result — Big, bold total per person with bill amount, tip amount, and tip percentage tags.

2. Tipping Rating — Visual rating with emoji and etiquette guidance:

3. Summary Cards — Bill amount, sales tax, tip amount, total amount, per person share, and tip per person. If rounding is applied, it shows the extra amount added.

4. Charts —

Bill Breakdown: Bar chart comparing bill, tax, tip, and total amounts.
Per Person Split: Doughnut chart showing each person’s share of bill, tax, tip, and rounding.

5. Tip Analytics — 10 data points including tip rate, effective tax rate, tip vs bill percentage, party size, and per-person breakdowns.

Step 6: Adjust & Recalculate

If the total feels too high or low:

Change tip percentage — Try 15%, 20%, or 25% presets to compare
Change party size — See how splitting changes per-person cost
Add rounding — Round total to nearest $1, $5, or $10 for easy cash payment
Switch service type — Get tailored etiquette tips for bars, delivery, salons, etc.

> Note: The calculator rates your tip based on US cultural norms. Tips below 15% at sit-down restaurants may be perceived as poor service feedback, while 18-20% is the widely accepted standard for good service.

Step 7: Reset & Start Over
